Scannable Items - 2nd Time Around

| Comments (0)

hulk.jpgO.K., round two on the scanning series. This time around I poked through my files and found some interesting items to share. This dude on the right is, of course, The Hulk. I found him a few years back around Halloween. It's a ring. I thought it was cool so I scanned it. It has a nice 3-D effect doesn't it? I had a jewel-sucker-ring too, but it was hard to scan without getting sugar and candy crystals all over the glass.

Anyway...keep reading...(oh, I spelled 'scannable' incorrectly last time and I apologize)...

Keeping with the Sci-Fi theme, these next two items are from a calendar, yes, another one, that featured classic movies of the genre from the '50s and '60s. I love the typography. Yes, a "horror horde"!

This next little item is a logo I found off of a cheap pack of cookies. The little treats, about 99 cents, were pretty good. But, I particularly was taken by the logo depicting the "little Dutch maid". Do little Dutch 'maids' still look this way? Did they ever? What is a "Lil"' Dutch maid, anyway? Is this a tired old stereotype?

Allright, the last scan I wanted to show you this time around is that of a "bad girl" from the '40s, I think. I don't know what made her bad, exactly, but that is what the postcard said. Maybe it's her trampy shoes.

As I said in Scannable Items 1, it's fun to find and save things in the design world that you like, scan them, and save the electronic version for future use. I don't know, maybe I'm crazy or easily pleased, but these things are classics and have to be saved for posterity, if nothing else.

Until next time...

Me.
